Our winemaker, José Vadrí, with more than 30 years at Clos Montblanc winery, perfectly combines the techniques of traditional winemaking with the latest trends in the world of wine. José Vadrí uses his extensive knowledge to create wines with the spirit and the own and incomparable characteristics of the Conca de Barberà. In Clos Montblanc we are lucky to have vineyards in three Designations of Origin and in four types of well differentiated soils. In the Conca de Barberà, the soils are made of lime and the slate stones. In the Penedès, the soils are composed mainly of Miocene sediments. In Tarragona, the soils are alluvial and in Terra Alta, the soils contain large deposits of clay. The vineyards altitudes go from 362 meters to 750 meters above the see level. The climate is defined as temperate Mediterranean, but there are strong Continental influences due to a relatively high altitude. The great diurnal temperature variations allow the vines to mature slowly resulting in the aromatic, concentrated wines of Clos Montblanc. We produce: Both Certified and conventional wines Featured wines on Spanish WINE Week: Xipella 2016 (Cariñena 40%; Syrah 35%; Cabernet Sauvingon 25%) ) D.O.
