About Atlante & terroir:

ATLANTE is a family run winery. Our aim is to reflect the behaviour of the local varietals at La Quinta and Los Topes plots both in Valle de la Orotava area strongly influenced by its volcanic soil and its temperate Atlantic climate. We grow Listán Negro, Vijariego Negro, Listán Blanco, Albillo Criollo and Castellana Negra on our 3 hectares.

The Listán Negro vines are trained on the unique Cordon Trenzado from Valle de la Orotava. It is like a braided cord only employed in this part of the world. We are the owners of a very old vineyard with vines ranging from 100 and 150 years old.

We treat the grapes very carefully in the cellar and work without any hurries allowing nature to do most of the work. We find it the best way for the grapes’ characteristics to be expressed on the wines. Spontaneous fermentation takes place in traditional open concrete tanks.

Aging and malolactic fermentations are carried out in 600 liter wooden casks. The results are authentic terroir driven wines. We make totally artisanal wines from the vineyard to the bottle.
